Update To Barn Fire – Randall Road, Algonquin

Last Saturday night the fire department was called in at around 10:45PM.

An abandoned barn had caught fire and was in full flames when they crews arrived.

According to John Greene of the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District, Because the building was vacant, crews allowed the fire to burn throughout the night. “There was no sense in getting anyone hurt by putting that thing out,” Greene said. “We let it burn and made sure there was no exposure.”

There was a small fire reported at the property 7 months ago, according to NW Herald.

Update To The Car Accident From May 1st, 2012

There haven’t been much more news about the other passengers in the vehicle. There have only been very few details released at this time.

Jon Lombard, 21, was one of those passengers in the vehicle that killed Megan Hartigan. No news has been posted on the internet, but a closer look at his Facebook reveals more information.

Some posts left from his friends say things like: “Hey Jon, hurry and wake up!”, “Man, I’m praying constantly for you. I’m hearing good things and it makes me glad to know that you’re still making progress. Cannot wait until I get to see you again.”. We have come to believe that he is in either a coma, or a medically induced coma. We have reached his mother for comment and are still waiting on a reply.

We have no information on Ryan Hanks right now.

Barn Fire On Randall Road – Algonquin, IL.

Around 10pm, reports came in of a barn fire came in. Report’s said that it was off of Randall Road, just past the Algonquin Commons.

When we arrived on scene, there were around 4 fire trucks, 3 ambulances, and 2 police cars, all of them from Algonquin/LITH. The barn, which the home in front of it has been bordered up for some time now, was completely engulfed in flames.

What we know of as of now, is that the firefighters were down by the barn, but they didn’t seem to be trying to stop the flames. It seems that the firefighters were just making sure that the surrounding area did not catch on fire as well.

We asked the Algonquin police officer’s for any comment, to which they replied that they didn’t know any details at which they could release yet.
